Why National Service?
Improving Lives
National Service participants improve the lives of millions of our most vulnerable citizens by helping children learn how to read, caring for seniors, rebuilding communities struck by disasters, helping veterans readjust to civilian life and more.
Most AmeriCorps members receive student loan deferment, and training, and may receive a living allowance and limited health benefit options.
End-of-Service Benefits
After you complete your term of service, you will also receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to help pay for college, graduate school, or vocational training or to repay student loans.
